Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) represents a significant breakthrough in the treatment of advanced chronic heart failure, particularly in patients with dyssynchronous ventricular contraction who do not respond adequately to standard medical therapy. Clinical trials have consistently shown that CRT leads to notable improvements in NYHA symptom classification, physical endurance, and overall quality of life when compared to patients receiving optimal medical treatment, including ACE inhibitors/ARBs and beta-blockers. These improvements are largely attributed to the "reverse remodeling" of the left ventricle—characterized by decreased ventricular volume, reduced LV mass, enhanced ejection fraction, and lessened mitral regurgitation—achieved by restoring synchronized ventricular contraction.
